Kemtah Requested by EEOC to Present ITSM Overview at Annual IT Summit

The Kemtah Group, Inc., (Kemtah) announced that they were selected to present an Information Technology Service Management ( ITSM) workshop at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s annual IT Summit in Washington, D.C., to EEOC IT professionals from around the United States. The EEOC is investigating ways to control costs and improve IT service for the EEOC’s 2,200 employees and 53 geographically dispersed sites. Within EEOC, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for managing the enterprise IT services and providing technical direction to the IT specialists who reside at the local field sites.

“We are delighted to assist the EEOC in their IT mission,” said Steve Wade, Kemtah’s president. “The EEOC is working hard to serve their users and their clients in an efficient manner. They are a data intensive agency and need to be able to continually improve their service strategy in order to address challenges such as their growing user base and managing a proliferation of technologies.”

Ron Ford and Geoff Duke from Kemtah’s Consulting division presented a workshop focused on ITSM fundamentals, including frameworks, definitions, and benefits. The presentation discussed the need for OIT to consider the quality of the services they provide and focus on the relationship with customers. Kemtah also addressed processes, keys to prevention, repeatability, accountability, and service orientation that were tailored around the complexities of EEOC’s national IT presence. The OIT staff also had questions regarding productivity tools, ITIL-based process improvements, and training, as well as Web 2.0 solutions for knowledge-base development and information sharing. Kemtah geared all of the solutions and processes to optimize service tasks and functions and to increase end-user satisfaction.

Overall, Kemtah staff reported that the entire IT Summit was productive, valuable, and most of all, fun.
